Late Mirza Qadiani was a claimant of prophethood as well as a claimant of being a physician. The proverb “Neem Hakeem Khatra e Jaan” was completely true for him.Shafi Mahshar has the honorable saying of the Holy Prophet (PBUH):
“Allah has not placed healing in those things which have been forbidden to you.”
But the medicines that Mirza Qadiani used were alcohol, opium, hemp, dhatura and other prohibited and haram substances. Let’s see what was Mirza Qadiani’s treatment method?
(1) Access to Mirza Qadiani’s knowledge of medicine:
Mirza Bashir Ahmad MA, son of Mirza Qadiani, writes: “Dada Sahib was a very expert and famous doctor. Taya also studied medicine. The Messiah also had special access to medical knowledge. And used to keep a stock of medicines in the house.”
(Sirat al-Mahdi Volume I Page 44 by Mirza Bashir Ahmad MA)
(2) Kachla Conine Folaad:
Mufti Muhammad Sadiq Sahib stated: During the time of the Messiah, a gentleman who was probably a resident of the state of Jind, he fell ill and came to Qadian for treatment, and he stayed at Pir Sirajul Haque Sahib’s house. Pir Sahib recommended him to Hazrat Sahib that he is sick. Pray for him. When the Huzoor prayed for him, the Huzoor was inspired: “Kachla Conine Folaad, this is the medicine (i.e. eat crushed stone and go to the graveyard).”
(Tazikrah Collection of Revelations and Inspirations, page 674, Volume IV by Mirza Qadiani)
(3) Neem Hakeem Khatra e Jaan:
Mirza Bashir Ahmad MA, son of Mirza Qadiani, writes in his book: “Dr. Mir Muhammad Ismail explained to me that in the matter of treatment, it was the way of the Promised Messiah that he never used one type of treatment. Rather in the same disease he also used to give english medicine as well as greek medicine too. Then, whoever said something useful, they also used to follow it. And if someone knew something in a dream, he used to act on it. Then also used to pray. And at the same time he used to take advice from doctors and hakeems. And he also used to take help in treatment by looking at the medicine book. Therefore, the treatment used to make a strange colored mixture. And his real trust was in God.”
(Sirat al-Mahdi Volume III page 270 by Mirza Bashir Ahmad)
(4) Prophetic Medicines:
“Dr. Mir Muhammad Ismail Sahib explained to me that he always used to kept the following medicines in his box and he used to them often. In English medicine, conine, aston syrup, folic, ergot, vinum apice, compounds of coca and cola, spirits of ammonia, bedamusch, stern wine of cadlor oil, chlorodyne cockle, sulfuric acid aromatic and the Scots emulsion used to keep. And among the Greeks they kept musk, amber, camphor, asafoetida, jadwar, and a mixture of their own preparation, the divine antidote. And he used to say that heng is the musk of poor and he used to say that opium has strange benefits. That is why the ruler has given it the name of antidote.”
(Sirat al-Mahdi, volume III page 284 by Mirza Bashir Ahmad Ibn Mirza Qadiani)
(5) Prohibited items “Bhang Dhatura Opium” All permissible:
“Dr. Mir Muhammad Ismail Sahib narrated to me that once Mirza Qadiani made a pill for a tuberculosis patient. In this he added conine and camphor, poisonous drugs such as opium, hemp and dhatora. And he used to say that something prohibited for treatment as medicine and for saving life also becomes permissible.”
(Sirat al-Mahdi, volume III page 111 by Mirza Bashir Ahmad Ibn Mirza Qadiani)
Opium: Opium is used in medicine so much that Mirza Qadiani used to say that according to some doctors, it is half the medicine.
Mirza Qadiani created the divine antidote under the direction of God Almighty and one of its main ingredients was opium. And this medicine continued to be given to Hazrat Khalifa I (Hakim Nooruddin Sahib) by Mirza Qadiani for more than six months after an overdose of opium. And he himself used it from time to time during attacks of various diseases.
(Article by Mian Mahmood Ahmad Sahib, Khalifa Qadian, the following newspaper “Al-Fazl”, Volume 17, Number 6, Page 2, dated 19 July 1929)
(6) “They used to give me opium because of illness in my childhood. They kept giving for six months.
(Minhaj Talibeen” page 74, Anwar Uloom Volume 9 page 220, by Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmood)
Arsenic: “When the opposition increased and Mirza Qadiani has started receiving letters threatening to kill him so for some time you used arsenic compounds so that, God willing, if poison is given to you, the body will have the strength to compete with it.”
(Arshad Mian Mahmood Ahmad, Khalifa Qadian, newspaper “Al-Fazl” Qadian, volume 22, number 99, page 4, dated February 5, 1935)
Fatwa on drinking tonic wine in the name of medicine: “You were engaged in the work of writings all day. Worshiped at night. Old age also affected the internal conditions, if the tonic wine was taken as a treatment, was the ugliness necessary?”
(By Dr. Basharat Ahmad Qadiani, Fariq Lahori, the following newspaper “Pegam Silh”, Volume 23, Number 15, dated March 4, 1935, Volume 23, Number 65, dated October 11, 1935)
(7) Mortality:
“A problem happened to me at the time of this marriage that because my heart and mind were so weak, and I was subject to many diseases, my mortal condition was void, and in the color of Peerana Sali was my life. That’s why some of my friends regretted my marriage that you were not worthy of it due to severe weakness.”
(Tazikrah Collection of Revelations and Inspirations, pages 98, 99, Volume IV by Mirza Qadiani)
(8) Qadiani Viagra:
“Dr. Mir Muhammad Ismail Sahib explained to me that Hafiz Hamid Ali Sahib, the servant of the Mirza Qadiani used to say that when Hazrat Sahib remarried, he remained celibate for a lifetime and because of fighting, you felt weak in your strength. . He made and used the inspired version known as “Zadajam Ishq” on it. The prescription is Zadajam Ishq, in which each letter refers to the first letter of the drug’s name. Saffron, cinnamon, nutmeg (Jund Baid Sutra), opium, musk, aqar qaraha, shigarf, qarnafal means cloves, All of these were crushed by same weight and make tablets and the pigment is kept in sim alfar and use one pill daily.”

“Majji Azizi Akhweem Nawab Sahib Salma! Assalam O Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu! The tablets of some kind of modern antidote are dispatched at your service Mirza Khuda Bakhsh Sahab and I will give some amount when you come to Qadian. This medicine is far more beneficial than the divine antidote.
The dose should not be more than two ratti in its first use so that it does not heat up. It is a very strong nerve and it is useful for itching and scabies and leprosy and diabetes and various kinds of dangerous diseases and it has a strange effect on the power of fire.” (Khaksar Mirza Ghulam Ahmad 29 August 1899)
(Mirza Qadiani in the name of his son-in-law Nawab Muhammad Ali, Maktobat Ahmad Volume II page 250 by Mirza Qadiani)
(10) Use of milk in “Dast Sharif”:
“You used to use milk often and used to drink a glass while sleeping and also used to use in the evening. Because it had become normal to drink milk here and there to have hand. That’s why he was very weak. To get rid of it, they used to drink a little milk three to four times a day to establish strength.”
(Sirat al-Mahdi Volume II page 134 by Mirza Bashir Ahmad MA)
(11) Divine Antidote?:
“Dr. Mir Muhammad Ismail explained to me that Mirza Qadiani had prepared a divine antidote during the days of plague. Hazrat Khalifa e Awal presented a big bag of rubies. All of them were crushed and dipped in it. People were grinding. You used to go in and get the medicine and mix in it. Bring a big box of Conine and he also mixed all on it. In the same way, he brought the bottle of Vinum Api Coke and also mix in it. Therefore mix the native and English medicine so much that Hazrat Khalifa e Awal started to say that medically, now there is no life and effect in this combination. It’s just a spiritual effect.”
(Sirat al-Mahdi Volume III page 218 by Mirza Bashir Ahmad MA)
(12) Treatment of cough:
“Dr. Mir Muhammad Ismail explained to me that once Hazrat Sahib had a severe cough. Such that there was no breath. However, keeping paan in the mouth seemed to be a little relaxing. At that time, you prayed with pan in your mouth in this state, so that you could pray comfortably.”
(Sirat al-Mahdi Volume III page 103 by Mirza Bashir Ahmad Ibn Mirza Qadiani)
(13) Treatment of cough with sugarcane:
“Hazrat Sahib once had a complaint of cough in the trip of Gurdaspur in 1903. I told that my late father used to treat it with warmed sugarcane. Then, as per the Huzoor order, a few puris of sugarcane were taken and heated on the fire and its small bites were made and given to him and he sucked them.”
(Dhikr Habib page 111 by Mufti Muhammad Sadiq Qadiani)
(14) Treatment of abscess:
“Hazrat Mother Sahiba told me that once Hazrat Sahib had an abscess near his ankle. On which Hazrat Sahib had tied a coin i.e. lead pillow on it which brought relief.”
(Sirat al-Mahdi, Volume III, Page 28, by Mirza Bashir Ahmad)
(15) Hair growth medicine:
“In his last age, the hair on the Huzoor’s head became very thin and light. Because he used to order samples of medicines etc. from the humble province. Probably for this reason he told me once. Mufti Sahib, ask for a medicine to grow and increase the hair of the head.”
(Dhikr Habib page 172,173 by Mufti Muhammad Sadiq Qadiani)
(16) Free Bur:
“Assalam O Alaikum Wa Rahamatullahi Wa Barakatuhu!
جزاکم اللّٰہ خیراً کثیرا فی الدنیا والآخرة
The medicine arrived. An advertisement for an abundance of hair may have been placed by someone in London, and sends free medicine. You should also order that medicine to be tested. He writes that even the bald can be cured by it.
والسلام
“مرزا غلام احمد عفی اللہ عنہ“
(Dhikr Habib page 360 by Mufti Muhammad Sadiq Qadiani)
The family members also did not believe in Mirza Qadiani’s medicine and used to get treatment from others. Some proof of this is found in book Sirat al-Mahdi, Volume III, page 234 of Mirza Bashir Ahmad MA, son of Mirza Qadiani. And when no doctor could be found, then he would have to get treatment from Mirza Qadiani. And what was Mirza Qadiani’s treatment, see:
(17) By slaughtering a chicken…
“Hazrat Mother Sahiba narrated to me that once Mirza Nizamuddin had a severe fever, which also had an effect on the mind. No other doctor was here at that time. The loved ones of Mirza Nizamuddin informed Hazrat Sahib and you immediately went there and got proper treatment. The cure was that you slaughtered a chicken and tied it on your head, which worked.”
(Sirat al-Mahdi Volume III Page 27 by Mirza Bashir Ahmad MA)
It would have been better if the live chicken would have been tied on the head so that the life of the poor chicken would have been saved….Also, on this pretext, Mirza Nizamuddin’s hearings were dismissed even by the crowing of a rooster. Sacrifice to such medicines!
