The late Mirza Qadiani used to make evidence of his false claims by using weak and weak, fabricated and even more fabricated meanings of the hadiths in the collection of hadith. Therefore, the literal and topical tradition of lunar eclipse and solar eclipse in Ramadan is a clear example. On the one hand, Mirza Qadiani says:
(1) “It is my belief and the belief of my congregation that all such hadiths about the coming of the Mahdi are not at all trustworthy and reliable.”
(Haqitah al-Mahdi p. 3 Ruhani Khazain vol. 14 p. 430, 429 by Mirza Qadiani)
On the other hand, in March 1894, when the eclipse of the moon and the eclipse of the sun took place in the month of Ramadan, Mirza Qadiani started propaganda by resorting to a very unreliable statement that I am the Mahdi and that the moon and a solar eclipse is my sign of mahdiwiat. Darqutni’s tradition of eclipses and eclipses in Ramadan, from which Mirza Qadiani argued in support of his claim of Mahdism, is as follows:
(2)
(Sunan Dar Qutni by Imam Ali bin Umar al-Dar Qutni, Volume I, Page 65, Beirut)
“(Translation of single words), Muhammad bin Ali says, اِن (Verily) لمھدینا (For our Mahdi) آیتین (There are two signs) لم تکونا (not manifested) منذ (since) خلق السمٰوٰت والارض (the creation of the Heavens and the Earth) تنکسف القمر (the moon will be eclipsed) لاول لیلۃ (the first night) من رمضان (of Ramadan) و (and) تنکسف الشمس (the sun will be eclipsed) فی النصف منہ (in half of this Ramadan) لم تکونا (not manifested) منذ (since) خلق اللّٰہ السمٰوٰت والارض (Allah created the Heavens and The Earth).” Now let us translate the whole tradition with the help of single word translation. “Surely there are two signs (for) our Mahdi, those (signs) have not happened since the creation of the heavens and the earth. The moon will be eclipsed on the first night of Ramadan and the sun will be eclipsed in half of it (Ramadan), those signs have not been (appeared) since Allah created the heavens and the earth.”
Readers! See the translation of this tradition by Mirza Qadiani and appreciate its integrity:
(3) (Translation by Mirza Qadiani) “In other words, two signs have been fixed for the support and confirmation of our Mahdi, and since the earth and the sky were created, those two signs did not appear at the time of any claimant, and they are that at the time of the claim of the Mahdi, the moon There will be an eclipse in the first night which is the first of the three nights of its eclipse i.e. the thirteenth night and the sun will be eclipsed on the middle day of its eclipse days i.e. on the twenty-eighth. And since the beginning of the world, it has not been agreed upon by any claimant that the eclipse at the time of his claim occurred on these dates in Ramadan.”
(Injam 8th Appendix Page 46 of the above Spiritual Treasures Volume 11 Page 330 by Mirza Qadiani)
May we ask the Qadiani Jamaat that the underlined words “at the time of a plaintiff, at the time of the Mahdi’s claim, which is the first of the three nights of its eclipse, i.e. the thirteenth night, and the sun will be eclipsed on the middle day of its eclipse days, that is, on the twenty-eighth date,” what is the translation of the words of Daraqutni tradition?
Readers! Examine the translation done by Mirza Qadiani on the translation of the tradition of Darqutni, can the meaning of the tradition of Qutni remain somewhere in this translation? How is it possible to translate لاول لیلۃ من رمضان as thirteenth night and twenty-eight dates per half month? Then the cruelty is that despite this clear malice, he offers the gift of “the tyrant, Raees al-Dajjal, and a thousand thousand curses!”
(Injam 8th Appendix p. 46 above Ruhani Khazain 11 p. 330 by Mirza Qadiani)
There are some important and capable points to be considered with reference to this above-mentioned hadith text. Pay special attention to them:
1. The most important thing is that Mirza Qadiani and the Qadiani Jamaat presenting this tradition as a Hadith of the Prophet (PBUH) is a great slander on the Prophet (PBUH) and a clear deception. This is a saying attributed to Muhammad bin Ali.
2. There are many narrators of this name. Then how can it be known which Muhammad bin Ali’s saying is this? But Mirza Qadiani and the Qadiani Jamaat insist that this is Muhammad bin Ali, Mr. Imam Muhammad Baqir, who is the grandson of Imam Hussain, the martyr of Karbala.
3. This saying attributed to Hazrat Imam Muhammad Baqir is unreliable and unsubstantiated for many reasons, as well as highly invalidated and rejected because the first narrator of this hadith was Amr bin Shamar, a great liar. He used to fabricate false traditions and attribute them to elders. Darqutni and Nasa’i have called it an obsolete hadith. Ibn Hibban said about him that he used to abuse the Companions and used to narrate the subject of hadiths. Imam al-Bukhari said that Amr bin Shamar denied the hadith. (Meezan-ul-Atidal Volume 2 Page 262)
4. The second narrator of this tradition is Jabir Jafi. This person was also a great Dajjal. Hazrat Imam Abu Hanifa said that I have not seen anyone more liar than Jabir Jafi. Nasa’i said that it is a obsolete hadith. Layth bin Abu Salim said that he was a liar. Said bin Jabr said that he is a liar. Ibn Hibban said that he was a follower of Saba’i i.e. Abdullah bin Saba the Jew. (Tahzeeb-ul-Tahzeeb Volume 2 Page 46 to 50)
5. Assume that even if this hadith or saying is correct, it does not go in favor of Mirza Qadiani. Because as much as the signs of Hazrat Imam Mahdi have been described in the blessed hadiths, none of them are found in Mirza Qadiani.
This phrase occurs twice in this prophecy: لم تکونا منذ خلق اللّٰہ السموات والارض That the two signs of the Mahdi are such that since the creation of the earth and the sky, these two signs have not appeared until today, that is, since the creation of the earth and the sky, there has never been an eclipse of the moon and the sun in these dates. If things appear as usual, then that sign did not happen. While during the reign of Mirza Qadiani, there was a lunar eclipse on the 13th of Ramadan and a solar eclipse on the 28th. And this has happened many times before Mirza Qadiani.
In this view, two signs of the Mahdi are unique, i.e. the eclipse of the moon on the first night of Ramadan and the second sign of the eclipse of the sun on the middle date of Ramadan. While Mirza Qadiani himself writes: “The lunar eclipse occurred on the 13th of Ramadan and the solar eclipse on the 28th of Ramadan” (Anjam 8th Appendix, page 50, Ruhani Khazain, volume 11, page 334), but Mirza Qadiani translated these dates according to his own interests. He created a joke for himself. Mirza Qadiani wrote the translation of this saying in his book “Haqiqat Al-Wahi” as follows:
(04) “In the time of the Prophet Mahdi, the eclipse of the moon in the month of Ramadan will occur on its first night, that is, on the thirteenth date, and the eclipse of the sun will occur on the middle days of its days, that is, the first date of the moon means the thirteenth date and the month of Ramadan. Half refers to the twenty-eighth date. Now, who will explain to these intellectually blind people that no one calls the thirteenth of Ramadan the first of Ramadan, and no one calls the twenty-eighth date the half of Ramadan. These are the Qadiani modifications on which the entire Qadiani edifice stands.
In Mirza Qadiani’s appendix “Anjam Atham” on page 47, he boldly writes that “O ignorant, blind of eyes, detractors of maulavit, just think that the word Qamar is mentioned in the hadith, if it was intended that the first If there is a lunar eclipse in the night, the word of Qamar does not appear in the hadith, but the word of crescent appears. This is a clear proof that Mirza Qadiani was neither familiar with the Qur’an nor was he ignorant of the dictionary, because in Arabic the moon is called Qamar and this is the real name of the moon in Arabic, so Rab Jalil said:
والقمر قدرناہ منازل حتی عاد کالعرجون القدیم ۔
Therefore, just as the first night of the moon is called Hilal, the same can be said of Qamar, because Qamar is a common name for all dates.
Mirza Qadiani writes
(05) “These two eclipses never came together during the time of any claimant of messengership or prophethood.”
(Haqiqatah Al-Wahi p. 196 above Ruhani Khazain vol. 22 p. 203 by Mirza Qadiani)
(06) “Because at the time of this eclipse, there was no one on earth who claimed to be the Mahdi, except me, and no one like me declared this eclipse as a sign of his Mahdihood, and published hundreds of advertisements and magazines in Urdu, Persian, and Arabic throughout the world. I published, therefore this celestial sign was assigned to me.”
(Haqiqatah Al-Wahi page 195 of the above treasures volume 22 page 202 by Mirza Qadiani)
Hazrat Maulana Syed Muhammad Ali Mongiri in his book “Shahadat Asmani” writes: “The gathering of eclipses on the 13th and 28th of Ramadan Sharif is a minor matter. But from the list mentioned in Mr. Keith’s book Uses of the Globes and Hudayq Al-Nujum, it is known that in a period of ninety years, the lunar eclipse occurred five times on the 13th of Ramadan, namely 1263 AH and 1267 AH and 1291 AH and 1310 AH, 1311 AH and 1312 AH and the solar eclipse occurred on 28 Ramadan 6 times in 36 years. The gathering of both of them took place 3 times in these dates. That is, in 46 years, 3 times lunar eclipse and solar eclipse took place on 13th and 28th of Ramadan. Then can such eclipses be signs and miracles?
The first gathering of eclipses i.e. the first lunar eclipse occurred on 13th Ramadan 1267H corresponding to 13th July 1851 and the solar eclipse occurred on 28th Ramadan 1267H according to 28th July 1851. Mirza Qadiani would be eleven or twelve years old at that time. Some Mirzais consider this eclipse to be the sign of Mirza Qadiani. If it is called a symbol, it would be for Ali Muhammad Bab because this eclipse happened after his claim of Prophethood and Mahdism at the time when his Caliph was illuminating his claim. This (Babi, Bahá’í) sect still exists.
The second gathering of eclipses i.e. lunar eclipse on March 21, 1894 on 13 Ramadan 1311 AH and solar eclipse on April 6, 1894 on 28 Ramadan 1311 AH. This eclipse did not appear in India but in America when Mr. Doi claimed Christianity and in Sudan at the same time Muhammad Ahmad also falsely claimed Mahdism. On the other hand, Mirza Qadiani has also described this eclipse as his sign in his book “Haqiqat Al-Wahi”. If the eclipse of 1311 AH can be a sign for Mirza Qadiani, then why can’t it be a sign for Muhammad Ahmad Sudani and Mr. Doi? Two of the three claimants should be declared liars and the third should be justified as a proof of its authenticity?
The third gathering of eclipses i.e. lunar eclipse on March 11, 1895 according to 13 Ramadan 1312 AH and solar eclipse on March 26, 1895 according to 28 Ramadan 1312 AH. This is the same eclipse which Mirza Qadiani has taken as a heavenly testimony for himself and has declared it as an example of the tradition of Darqutni, but here it should be considered that according to the tradition, those two eclipses will be unique and awesome since the time when the earth and the sky were created. Since then, their precedent cannot be found. And this year’s eclipse was such that there are two examples of it in the last 46 years. One example is one year before that, i.e. in 1311 AH. Then how can it be benign?
During the dates in which both lunar and solar eclipses coincided, many people claimed to be the Mahdi and the Prophet and misled the creation of God for a long time. For example: Salih bin Tarif Barghawatina claimed prophethood and Mahdi Akbar in 127 AH. During his time, there was an eclipse in Ramadan in 162 AH (779 AH). The period of prophethood was 27 years. His family ruled for 330 years. Abu Mansoor Isa claimed prophethood in 341 AH. In the month of Ramadan 346 AH, there was a gathering of eclipses and eclipses during his time. The claim of prophethood was killed after 23 years. Ali Muhammad Bab claimed Mahdism in Iran in 1240 AH. In his time, according to 1247 AH, there was a gathering of eclipses and eclipses in Ramadan 1851. Then, why these gatherings of eclipses and eclipses in Ramadan cannot be a sign during the periods of Saleh bin Tarif, Abu Mansoor Isa and Ali Muhammad Bab?
Mirza Qadiani’s claim that this type of eclipse did not occur during the time of any claimant of prophethood before me was wronged by Salih because this type of eclipse occurred during his time as well. Similarly, Mirza Qadiani’s claim was that a false claimant does not succeed for 20 years but is killed in disgrace. Salih remained the king for 47 years despite being a liar and his descendants had the kingdom for several hundred years. The Qadiani Jamaat will have to accept that the gathering of eclipses in 1311 AH, which took place in Ramadan Sharif, is not a sign of the authenticity of Mirza Qadiani or any other claimant of Mahdism. The meaning of the tradition is not what Mirza Qadiani understood. The gathering of eclipses, which is described as the sign of the Mahdi in tradition, should be something that has never happened before and which has happened hundreds of times since the time of Hazrat Adam (A.S). It cannot be a sign of someone’s truth or falsehood.
